Hoosier Authority
The Hoosier Heritage Conference enters 2008 with teams at both ends of the spectrum. Teams like Delta and New Palestine are looking for more than just success in the early rounds of tournament play. Rushville and Yorktown, however, have a lot of room for improvement.
Then there are teams like Mount Vernon who are just about in the middle. A year after winning the sectional, head coach Kris Lashaway’s team returns just one starter.
“The keys for us will be team chemistry and communication,” says Lashaway. “We are a young team and if we overcome these two areas, this team will go far.”
Greenfield-Central brings a great defense into the 2008 season, led by a talented junior class that includes Kelsey Bryant and Cierra Hall. Head coach Jamie Andrews knows exactly what it will take for the Cougars to get over the hump in 2008.
“Our success will depend on effective communication and our girls determination.”
Last year, Hoosier Heritage teams captured two sectional titles, and in ’08 there seems to be enough talent in this group of teams to do the same.
