The Hoosier
Heritage Conference had a huge day during the individual regionals held across
central Indiana on Saturday. All eight teams in the league advanced at least
two wrestlers to semi-state competition. In all, the HHC advanced 37 grapplers
and crowned seven regional champions.

Yorktown led
the way for the HHC, advancing ten wrestlers and claiming four champions at the
Jay County Regional. Rushville advanced five through the Richmond Regional with
one champion while Pendleton Heights had the identical performance at their own
regional site. New Palestine advanced five wrestlers but had no champions at
the Perry Meridian Regional. Shelbyville was next in line. The Golden Bears
advanced four wrestlers through at Perry Meridian. Greenfield-Central pushed
three people through at Perry, including one champion. Mount Vernon advanced
three to semi-state, but had no champions. Finally, Delta pushed two grapplers
through to semi-state out of the Jay County site.
