FB: Delta and Shelbyville both in top ten of 4A

We are
two-thirds through the season and things in the HHC have sorted out as they
usually do. Delta and Shelbyville appear destined to settle the conference
race. Both are undefeated in league play and overall. They are also the two
conference teams getting love from the state pollsters. Delta is sixth this
week in 4A and Shelbyville is ninth. Here is a look at the complete poll in all

GG: Shelbyville shoots way to state finals

Unranked
Shelbyville crashed the Party at the Franklin Central Regional Saturday. The
Golden Bears fired a 352 to claim third place and the final qualifying spot for
the state finals. They edged #17 Zionsville by three strokes for the spot.
Shelbyville was led by a pair of 79s. They were fired by Kenzi Turner and Mimi
Chalermkiet.  Here is a look at the

VB: Several HHC players among state statistical leaders

The IHSAA
has released statistical leaders in Indiana for several categories and it
should come as no surprise that Hoosier heritage players dot the list. 3A power
Yorktown has two players among the top fifteen in the state. Laura Avila is  seventh in assists at 9.85 per game and Emily
MacIntyre is ninth in digs with an average of 5.5 per game.

 

Defending
state champion Delta has one player among the state leaders. Kaitlin Walton is
14th in kills averaging 4.16 per game. Kayla Negley of Mt. Vernon is
13th in service aces with an average of 1.14 per contest. Finally,
Shelbyville’s Stephanny Logan is 12th in blocks at 1.37 per game.

GG: Shelbyville advances to regional level

Shelbyville
was the lone Hoosier Heritage team to advance through the Mt. Vernon Sectional
on Saturday. The Golden bears finished second in the tourney field. The top
three teams advanced to regional competition this coming weekend.

 

Two other
HHC schools, Mt. Vernon and Greenfield-Central, each had two individuals
advance through the sectional. Here is a look at the complete results.

 

MT. VERNON (FORTVILLE) SECTIONAL

Beech Grove shoots a 367 to defeat
runner-up Shelbyville by a dozen strokes for the team title, with Franklin
Central another 17 shots back in third Saturday at Old Oakland. Shelbyville’s
Kenzi Turner cards an 83 to beat both teammate Mimi Chalermkiet and Kelsey Fisk
of Greenfield-Central by two strokes for medalist honors.
